Stoke Rochford Hall Weddings
Catching up on the blog … long way to go as I have many weddings to share with you that we photographed in 2012. In June saw the wedding of Kersty and Matt. They got married in the beautiful venue of Stoke Rochford Hall. A magnificent Victorian Mansion situated in peaceful, rolling countryside in the heart of the East Midlands. An absolute gem to have a wedding at and also for wedding photography.
As always we met a few weeks before their wedding in order to go through their day and to get to know each other behind as well as in front of the camera. It seemed such a while back when they picked us as their nottingham wedding photographers. As soon as we met up with them again and went around the venue we knew that we had something special to photograph and couldn’t wait for the day to arrive.
The ‘get to know you’ shoot went really well. Matt was pretty nervous at first at being in front of the camera but soon settled into it when we started to have fun. Kerstie just breezed through it, a born natural. When they mentioned that they had brought their dog I, immediately, said that ‘Wilson’ must be in the shots too.
It was a good three hours spent. Together we did a recce of Stoke Rochford and found some amazing places to photograph that you will see later in this post.

And then the wedding day ….. We were quite anxious about the weather as Kerstie and Matt wanted a lot of the photographs to be done out in the gardens with the views. Although it was cloudy, the forecast looked to being kind but you never know with the weather these days. We had contingency plans … always good to have those …. just in case.
The whole day went gloriously well. We photographed Kerstie and her bridesmaids getting ready and then Matt as he arrived, already dressed, down in the elegant hall of Stoke Rochford. The ceremony went smoothly. We are always ready to look for emotions and reactions. As Kerstie came down the aisle we realised that Matt was waiting for her to arrive by his side before he looked. He wanted to save the best for the last. You could feel his anticipation as he waited.
After the confetti and greeting the guests we took Kerstie and Matt around the grounds as well as inside the hall for photographs. Stoke Rochford definitely didn’t fail to please as it is such a photogenic venue.
BTW clock the shoes 🙂
“The best wedding photos I have seen. Thank you so much Cathy and Brian you have captured our perfect memories without exception. The style of photographs – no forced pictures, subtle non traditional style. Professionalism – we had no doubt the photos were going to be great. I think the pre wedding shoot helped with this. The story – All the important moments of the day captured. The photos incorporated the venue/style and architecture, not just the people” – Kerstie and Matt
Thank you to Martin Hemsley who joined us to help photograph the wedding as a third shooter/assistant.
